POLLUCITE
Shigar Valley, northeast of Skardu, Pakistan
POLLUCITE, Shigar Valley, northeast of Skardu, Pakistan. A superb specimen that Herb Obodda sold to Alex Mann around 10 years ago for $1,200 and Herb’s priced label accompanies. The specimen consists of a large, complex, mostly transparent crystal that is domed (with faces) on the back and has a somewhat-hollow, well-crystallized front. In the hollow area at the front is a large crystal with sharp faces. The result is a large, (1-1/2x1-1/4 inch) diamond-shaped crystal on matrix of another, larger crystal. A very special specimen but please remember that colorless mineral specimens are very difficult for me to photograph. 2-5/8x2x1 inches. $1,200.
