DIOPTASE in CALCITE, Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia. This specimen is one of the most richly included with dioptase in sharp rhombohedral calcite that I have ever owned. The largest calcite at middle-left measures one inch! Measures, as it stands, unassisted, 5-3/4x4-1/4x1-3/4 inches. The maximum dimension is 7 inches. Price $4,500.

ELBAITE TOURMALINE, Malkan, Krasny, Chita Oblast, Transbaikal, Russia. An absolutely delightful, block, very-well terminated single crystal of rich, deep-pink color. The termination is trigonal and hard to show in the photograph. Measures 2-1/2 inches tall by 3-1/2x2-3/4 inches. Price $7,500.

PYROMORPHITE, Wheatley’s Mines, near Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Superb, individualized crystals in fine relief on matrix. Stands as shown. Measures 2-3/4x2x1-1/2 inches. Price $1,500.

DATOLITE, Dal'negorsk,  Primorskiy Kray,  Far-Eastern Region, Russia. A compound, 2-1/2 inch crystal and some smaller crystals at left, sits on a shallow matrix with terminated quartz crystals to 2 inches long. This superb specimen with its subtle green coloring was hard for me to capture in its photograph. Measures 5-1/2x3x2-1/2 inches. Price $2,500.

ELBAITE TOURMALINE, Pech, Nuristan, Kunar Province, Afghanistan. A lovely, pale-blue, 4 inch, terminated crystal has been naturally broken near its top and subsequently healed with a deposit of cookeite. It sits on an albite matrix and has a few quartz crystals on the base. This is a choice specimen. Measures, overall 4x4-3/4x2-1/2 inches. Price $3,000.

ELBAITE TOURMALINE, Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego County, California.. A spectacular specimen. A compound, doubly-terminated pink and partly bi-colored crystal lies across a large, complete microcline crystal with a little lepidolite. The elbaite crystal measures 4-3/4x1-1/4 (at its widest) x1 inches. There is a break in the elbaite crystal 1-1/2 inches from the right-hand end that is cleanly mended. Measures, overall 4x4x2-1/2 inches.  On a custom-made base by Alec Madoff. Price $15,000.

GREEN FLUORITE, Westmoreland, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. An absolutely superb, totally complete, gemmy, octahedral crystal. One of the finest I have ever owned. With a little colorless fluorite and on an Alec Madoff base. Worthy of inclusion in any top collection, public or private. Measures  3-1/2x2-3/4x2 inches. Price $2,500.

CALCITE & NATIVE COPPER, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan. Despite my poor photographs this is a choice, classic example of native copper as inclusions in well-crystallized calcite and crystalline-leaf native copper on that calcite; and it is of large, important size. Measures 5x3x3 inches. Price $3,500.
