CALCITE, Frizington, Cumbria, (Cumberland), England.Two compound groups of doubly-terminated, dog-tooth crystals are intergrown to form one spectacular specimen. The red hematite inclusions add exceptional beauty. It stands on a custom-made base by Alec Madoff, mount maker to the American Museum of Natural History. Measures 5-1/4x4-1/4x2 inches. Price $3,500.
SODALITE (HACKMANITE), Crown Amin Jan, Kokscha Valley, Badakshan Province, Afghanistan. Superb, very large (to 2-1/2 inches) on matrix. Measures 5-1/2x3x2 inches. Price $5,000.
CROCOITE, near Dundas, Tasmania. Crystals of exceptional color are deposited in two places on the matrix. Measures 3-1/4x3x2-1/2 inches. Price $750.
COVELLITE, Leonard Mine, Butte, Silverbow County, Montana. A solid, old-time, crystallized mass featuring some superb, sharp, stout crystals to 7/8 inches. A little pyrite is present. Measures 2-1/4x1-1/2x1-1/8 inches. Price $7,500.
AMAZONITE MICROCLINE, Lake George, Park County, Colorado. A large, blocky group of large, terminated crystals. Measures 4-1/2x4x3-1/2 inches. Price $1,000.
HEMATITE on QUARTZ, St. Gotthard, Switzerland. A compound crystal of hematite, with a few, tiny, red rutile crystals, is perched on the side of a compound, doubly-terminated quartz crystal. In the photograph that shows the hematite to the left, the quartz crystal shows contact faces. It stands on a custom-made base by Alec Madoff, mount maker to the American Museum of Natural History. Measures 2-1/4x1-1/2x1-1/4 inches. Sold.
BARITE, Hunan Province, China. Large (to 1-5/8 inches), superb, sharp crystals (some showing zoning) on a lovely, domed mass of matrix covered with minute, sparkling quartz crystals. A large-sized, important specimen and it sits perfectly as shown. Measures 6-1/2x6x4 inches. Price $1,500.
