NATIVE SULFUR, Girgenti (Agrigento), Sicily, Italy.
NATIVE SULFUR, Girgenti (Agrigento), Sicily, Italy. A genuine example of native sulfur crystals on matrix. A former Vassar College collection specimen. There has been much written and said about the modern, laboratory grown sulfur specimens, but this one with its pre 1959 provenance is a genuine one. I show the front and back of the label of the late Dr. Eugene E. Sensel. Measures 4-3/4x3x2 inches with the largest individual sulfur crystal at 1-1/4 inches. Please note one cleaved sulfur crystal at center-left. Price is $1,000.
